Good to know

  • PDF layout detection is approximate. Review columns, tables and reading order after conversion.
  • Keep the exact look combines editable text frames with a text-free image of page artwork. Fonts and complex clipping can still differ; artwork is not editable.
  • Reflow mode exports embedded images as PNG crops and does not extract vector-only illustrations. Choose Keep the exact look for diagrams, table lines and coloured backgrounds.
  • OCR reads pages without selectable text. English and Hindi download from this site on first use. Page-sized scans are replaced only when OCR finds readable text; otherwise original page images are kept where available.

Questions

Is the Word document editable?

Yes. Text becomes paragraphs or positioned text frames; detected tables become Word tables in reflow mode. Pages without readable text remain images unless OCR is enabled.

Will it look identical?

Not always. PDF does not reliably store document structure. Fonts, complicated tables, vector graphics and unusual reading order may need correction. Positioned mode keeps text near its original location.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser does the work on this device, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Nothing is sent to a server.
