Good to know

  • The first conversion downloads the converter (LibreOffice, about 75 MB) from this site. After that it is kept on this device and works offline.
  • Needs a computer with a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari. Phones, tablets and Firefox are not supported yet.
  • Password-protected documents need their password removed in Word first.

Why it's private

  • Processed in your browser

The tool runs on your device. There is no upload step and no server that receives your files.

  • Works offline

Wait for Offline ready before disconnecting. OCR and Office conversion also need their engines saved on this device.

  • No ads or trackers

Tool pages load no ads, no analytics scripts and no third-party code.

Questions

Will my document look exactly the same?

Very close. Text, tables, images, headers, footers and page numbers are kept. Fonts that only Microsoft Office has (such as Calibri and Cambria) are replaced by open fonts of the same size, so lines and pages break in the same places. Hindi and other Indian scripts are drawn correctly.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

The converter is LibreOffice, the open-source office suite, made to run inside your browser. It is a one-time download of about 75 MB from this site; once it is saved on this device, conversions start in a few seconds, even offline.

Can I convert several documents at once?

Yes, up to 20. Each becomes its own PDF, and they come together in one ZIP. To join them into one PDF afterwards, use Merge PDF.

Does it work on my phone?

Not yet. The converter needs about 1 GB of memory, more than phones and tablets give a web page, and it does not start in Firefox yet. Use a computer with Chrome, Edge or Safari. You can still try on other devices; the page tells you if it cannot run.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser does the work on this device, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Nothing is sent to a server.
